SANTA FE, NM - December 2, 2015. Seamless Medical Systems, which has developed a digital patient registration offering, raised $2.5 million in a round led by Sun Mountain Capital and New England Development Investments. The company raised its last round in June 2013.
This brings the company’s total funding to at least $4.5 million to date. Seamless was also awarded $750,000 in January from The Kresge Foundation and California Healthcare.
Seamless offers mobile-enabled products that aim to help healthcare organizations with patient registration, data capture, health education, and communication. The company’s first product, an iPad patient check-in platform called Snap Practice, is loaded onto dedicated iPads that are handed out to patients in the waiting room in lieu of clipboards.
The company’s other product, called MyHeal+h, provides patients with personalized health and wellness information that comes from different sources including the Mayo Clinic, Prevention Magazine, and The National Institutes of Health. MyHeal+h also allows providers to communicate with patients after their appointment.
“This has been a breakout year for Seamless Medical, with our successful integration with some of the industry’s top EMR systems, the adoption of our solution by prominent health systems, and several of the nation’s fastest growing retail and urgent care clinics,” Seamless Medical CEO and Founder David Perez said in a statement. “These funds will enable us to accelerate our national rollout and rapidly deploy to new clients currently in negotiations.”
Perez added that he wants to use the funds to triple the company’s size in 2016. Seamless’ offering has been deployed in 25 states and has logged over 1 million patient encounters, according to the company.
